Dismissals
Although normally the last resort, there will come a time when every employer has to contemplate dismissing an employee. Dismissals can occur and take effect in a variety of ways, but unless you have a potentially fair reason for any dismissal, the consequences can be severe.
There are currently six potentially fair reasons to dismiss an employee, but having a potentially fair reason to dismiss is not enough to protect yourself against a finding of unfair dismissal.
When the need arises, our aim is to provide you with sensible, commercially-minded and pragmatic advice at every stage; from the point when you first become aware of a problem, advising you on the appropriate disciplinary steps to take beforehand, and on how to carry out the actual dismissal and handle any appeal.
On those occasions when a claim is presented to the Employment Tribunal, our insight, strategy and practical approach will help you present the best defence possible.
