Hi my name is Louise Dawson
I arrived at Bolt Burdon in December 2008 to join the residential property team and was delighted to be asked to become a partner in July 2010. I now head up one of our conveyancing teams.
A bit of background, after completing my degree in Law and French in Bristol, which included spending a year working in Paris, I took a couple of years off from the books to go travelling. Whilst in Australia, as well as taking in the sights, I worked in law firms in both Brisbane and Sydney.
It was then back to Bristol to complete my Legal Practice Course where I stayed for my training contract, qualifying as a solicitor in 2005.
I really enjoy the client contact that comes with helping people to buy and sell their houses. It is my job to make moving house, which is meant to be one of the most stressful things we do in life, much less so for my clients. I and my team do this by keeping our clients fully up to date at all stages of their transaction and delivering results on time. We are available at times to suit our clients’ busy lives and pride ourselves on going the extra mile for them. It helps that we have developed excellent working relationships with the local estate agents.
As well as buying and selling houses, I help my clients with declarations of trust, transfers of equity and remortgages as well as lease extensions for both freeholders and leaseholders. I have also acted for property developers in setting up the leases for new blocks of flats.
Outside of work I like to keep fit by going to yoga and dance classes but am easily side tracked by London and its many restaurants, bars and theatres.
