Hi my name is Lynne Burdon
I love my job as Managing Partner of Bolt Burdon. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved - we are a modern, innovative and well run law firm. My aim is to make sure our clients are delighted and that our staff love working here. I think we have the most flexible working policy in the world!
After education at a Quaker school in North Yorkshire and a Maths degree at University College London I qualified as a solicitor in 1980. I practiced commercial law for over 20 years but I now prefer to concentrate my energies on making Bolt Burdon the best firm it can possibly be. In 1998 I obtained an MBA in legal practice to complete my formal management training. I am also a master practitioner of NLP.
I think it is important that business plays its role in the community and I am a Past President of the Islington Chamber of Commerce and a board member of Angel AIM our local BID. I am also a director of Chance UK a charity providing mentoring to disadvantaged children. In 2005 I was honoured with the Mayor of Islington's Civic Award.
When not working I love the big outdoors. I love skiing anywhere with snow and sailing where the sea is warm. I believe holidays are important. Recently running has become a part of my life and I have completed 3 marathons very slowly finishing 36,562nd in New York in 2006! I led a team of 13 staff in the Florence Marathon in 2009 – we all completed it raising over £17,000 for the NSPCC.
