ProfilesMatthew MillerI was born in Solihull, grew up and went to school in Surrey, did a Geography degree at Durham University and then finished my studies (for the time being) at Nottingham Law School. I trained at CMS Cameron McKenna in the City and, having qualified in 1999, I worked in the Corporate Department as an assistant solicitor for just over four years (during which time I also got married). I moved to Bolt Burdon at the beginning of 2004. I am head of the firm's Company/Commercial Department and, as such, advise a wide range of companies and individuals on all aspects of corporate and partnership law, commercial agreements, e-commerce, intellectual property, joint ventures and corporate reorganisations. I specialise in business acquisitions and disposals (including earn-outs and management buy-outs) and in private equity/venture capital investment. I am a member of Islington Chamber of Commerce and I am also involved in various different initiatives designed to help entrepreneurs, start-ups and smaller businesses to establish themselves and develop. Outside work, I play hockey every weekend during the winter and golf most weekends during the summer (I am not getting any better at either, but it stops me doing any DIY). I also do a fair bit of road-running and have run the London Marathon several times. I enjoy watching Arsenal FC, cricket and most other sports, travelling, Indian food and the odd pint of Guinness. phone: 020 7288 4739 |
