Recent Matters
The following are some examples of recent work carried out by the employment department for private clients:
- Negotiating an exit package including a release from post termination restrictive covenants, a 6 figure sum and tax efficient payment structure for a director of a well known professional services company.
- Representing a senior executive in a claim for sex and race discrimination and sexual harassment against her manager and employer. Successfully concluding the matter via mediation on favourable terms including a substantial financial settlement and payment of all legal costs.
- Representing an employee in a claim for disability discrimination and unfair dismissal following the termination of her employment on capability grounds.
- Advising a director concerning the implications of a TUPE transfer of his employment following a company buy out.
- Representing an employee in a claim for religious discrimination and unfair dismissal and successfully negotiating a settlement.
- Representing an employee in claims for sexual orientation and disability discrimination and successfully negotiating a favourable settlement.
- Advising a part time worker on their rights under employment legislation.
- Advising an employee on her right to request flexible working and raise a grievance in relation to her employer's failure to deal with that request.
- Advising a city worker on repayment of a signing on bonus upon their exit from a company.
- Advising an employee on potential claims for unfair dismissal and disability discrimination against a well known retailer and negotiating a favourable exit package.
- Advising three employees from the same company on their redundancy packages.
- Advising an individual on change of status from partner to employee on set up of a limited company.
