Hi my name is Andy Grant
I completed my law degree and legal practice course at De Montfort University, Leicester in 1999 and qualified as a solicitor in 2004 after completing a training contract at an American firm with an office in the City.
I joined Bolt Burdon in June 2008 as a senior solicitor in the wills, trust and probate team. I have a genuine enthusiasm for this type of work as it is an area of law that affects everyday life and one that is constantly changing because it is interlinked so heavily with tax law, and, to be honest, I like talking about tax and showing value in what I do through the tax saving a well drafted will or trust deed can bring.
I have expertise in will drafting, tax planning, trusts, administering estates, lasting powers of attorney and Court of Protection matters. Recent work includes advising clients on the capital gains tax implications of a divorce where the couple own more than one property, drafting lifetime trusts for education and acting as a deputy to manage the financial affairs of a person who has lost mental capacity.
To continue my professional development and improve my expertise in this field of law I am currently studying towards the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners Diploma for England & Wales (Trusts and Estates). I am also a member of the probate section of the Law Society.
When I’m not working I enjoy running the streets of London and I also play football, squash and table tennis.
