Hi my name is David Wise
I am the head of the Contentious Property Team, having joined Bolt Burdon in December 2009.
I qualified as a solicitor in 1998, first practising as a transactional property lawyer (dealing with property purchases, sales and lettings) before making the change to specialise in property litigation.
Having spent many years representing clients in both the Private and Public sector, my practise covers the wide spectrum of both residential and commercial property disputes - ranging from the every day landlord and tenant and property-related issues to business lease renewal claims under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 and to the most complex commercial cases. I also undertake much of my own advocacy in the County Court.
A member of the Property Litigation Association, I keep myself fully up to date with developments in this area of the law and my work extends to presenting seminars and workshops to clients and property professionals on topical issues in the property litigation arena.
Whatever the issue at hand, I and my team will always strive to deliver good, solid, practical and cost-effective advice in helping our clients find a solution to a problem.
Away from work, a keen runner I can very often be found pounding the streets of London in training for my next full or half marathon. When I am feeling less energetic a good book does the trick - usually modern history or a touch of Rumpole (who always reminds me that the legal profession does have a light-hearted side!)
