Hi my name is Julian Walshaw
Born and raised in West Yorkshire, I completed my law degree at the University of Leicester and followed this with the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in York, before I moved to London to begin my training.
I qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and I have specialised in employment law matters ever since. I am a member of the Employment Lawyers Association. I joined Bolt Burdon in February 2009, having worked for a large nationwide commercial practice and the Ministry of Justice beforehand.
Employment law is one of the most demanding areas of legal practice and one of the joys of my work is that I get to handle a wide range of issues for a variety of different clients on an almost daily basis. I regularly act for clients with offices and interests across Europe and the United States.

In addition, I am regularly asked to prepare and deliver “in-house” training programmes for my clients on matters like preventing discrimination and dealing with workplace grievances and disciplinary issues.
At Bolt Burdon our aim is to exceed your expectations 100% of the time. We will always go that extra mile to achieve the right result for you. And you don’t have to take my word for it – let feedback from my clients do the talking…
Outside of work my passions are music, sport and travel. In addition to being a life-long Leeds United fan (which is enough to test the passion of anybody these days) I play in the firm’s five-a-side football team and I’m currently training for a marathon, which is bringing a whole other meaning to going the extra mile…
