Hi my name is Louise Dawson
After completing my degree in Law and French in Bristol, which included spending a year working in Paris, I took a couple of years off from the books to go travelling. Whilst in Australia, as well as taking in the sights, I worked in law firms in both Brisbane and Sydney.
Once over the jet lag it was back to Bristol to complete my Legal Practice Course where I stayed for my training contract, qualifying as a solicitor in October 2005. I loved my time in Bristol, however, I decided to move to London to be closer to my family. I was delighted to join the residential conveyancing team at Bolt Burdon in December 2008.
I really enjoy the client contact that comes with helping people to buy and sell their houses. It is my job to make moving house, which is meant to be one of the most stressful things we do in life, much less so for my clients. I do this by keeping them fully up to date at all stages of their transaction and delivering results on time. It helps that we have developed excellent working relationships with the local estate agents.
As well as the buying and selling of houses, I also assist my clients with Declarations of Trust, Transfers of Equity and Remortgages as well as lease extensions for both freeholders and leaseholders. I have also acted for property developers in setting up the leases for new blocks of flats.
Outside of work I am trying to train for the Florence marathon, which as a non-runner is a huge challenge for me! I am also enjoying getting to know London and its many restaurants, bars and theatres.
