You want to talk about sacrifice. I'll tell you about sacrifice.

I used to play darts on a Wednesday night, with my mates, in a smoky pub in Old Street.

Not anymore.

I used to enjoy a cigarette with a pint of Guinness, or maybe lager. Maybe a glass of wine.

Not anymore.

Kebabs. Crisps. Pork scratchings, snags, fry ups, bacon sandwiches, sugar, pizza, chicken tikka massala, fried chicken, fried bread, fried everything. big macs, super sized. burgers, hot dogs, CHIPS!

Not anymore.

Silk Cut, Bensons, woodbines, pipes, sun beds, all nighters, all dayers, fast women, slow horses, Trap 6, Bukowski, arm wrestling, stag weekends, William Hill, coral and smoke filled Ladbrokes on a Saturday afternoon.

Not anymore.

Short bus rides, taxis, elevators, strolling, meandering, sauntering, idling, relaxing, sleeping in. care free. Guilt free.

Not anymore.

A wise man once said (my friend Jon last night) that one must never ask what he is sacrificing. Only what he is sacrificing for........

In this case, I am giving up all the things I love to help change the lives of children that need your generosity more than I need all of the above things put together. Making their lives better is worthy of sacrifice. What better reason is there?

So please don't make me give up all these things for nothing and give all you can.

Thank you.

p.s Its 26.2 miles!
