I am an Associate in the Employment team at Bolt Burdon.
I qualified in 2011 and specialise in employment law and advise both employer and employee clients on a wide variety of employment matters. My experience covers a wide range of both contentious and non-contentious employment work and I estimate that, to date, I have helped many hundreds of clients.
I advise extensively on grievance, disciplinary and performance matters and regularly review, draft and negotiate employment related documentation including settlement agreements, contracts and staff handbooks. I regularly advise on exit strategies and the negotiation that goes with this, redundancies and re-organisations, as well as providing day to day HR advice. I also regularly deal with claims in the Employment Tribunal, including claims for unfair dismissal, discrimination, equal pay, whistleblowing and unlawful deductions from wages.
I provide the service I would want to receive. Avoiding legal waffle, I provide advice that is swift, user-friendly, pragmatic and strategic. I pride myself on my personal approach and particularly enjoy working closely with clients to achieve the best result for them and developing good working relationships.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my wife and two young children and can often be found exhausted at soft play or looking at animals at one of the local farms. When not spending time with the family, I love to travel (preferably to somewhere sunny) and enjoy music and watching as many films or as much sport (usually golf or boxing) as my wife allows me to watch.
