I am a Partner and head of the Wealth and Estate Planning team at Bolt Burdon.
I also oversee all of our Private Client services with overall responsibility for our residential property, contentious probate and enfranchisement teams.
My client work primarily focuses on tax planning and elderly client matters.
During many years of practice I would estimate I have helped thousands of clients and have a wealth of experience in dealing with tax enquiries including inheritance tax planning, capital gains tax mitigation, income tax queries and reliefs, trusts tax and Stamp duty land tax queries.
I can also assist with the administration of estates, the creation and administration of trusts (both those created within a will and as a lifetime settlement) the preparation and registration of Lasting Powers of Attorney, Declaration of Trusts for co-ownership of property and applications to the Court of Protection.
I am a Charted Tax Advisor with the Chartered Institute of Taxation and a full member of the Association of Tax Technicians. In addition I am a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS).
I am a director of Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE). SFE is an organisation of legal professionals specialising in the legal affairs of elderly and vulnerable people.
In June 2015 I was appointed to the Court of Protection’s Panel for Professional Deputies, enabling me to manage the financial affairs of those clients who are unable to manage matters for themselves or in cases where there is not a suitable relative to manage such matters. If you require assistance with this type of work please do not hesitate to get in touch.
In my spare time I like to keep fit and undertake various obstacle course races on a regular basis.
