Remediation of non-ACM buildings: Cladding replacement fund

In the March 2020 budget, the government announced that it will provide £1 billion in 2020-2021 to support the remediation of unsafe non-ACM cladding system</s on residential buildings 18 metres and over in both the private and social housing sectors.

The online registration process opens up today, 1 June 2020, and will close on 31 July 2020.

The Building Safety Fund will ensure that leaseholders are protected from the costs of remediating unsafe cladding where building owners, freeholders or managing agents responsible for the safety of a building are not meeting such costs themselves, or from other sources such as warranty claims, and are applying to the fund.  Applications to the fund should come from building owners, freeholders or a managing agent responsible for the upkeep of a block of flats.

Further guidance and information can be found on the government website: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/remediation-of-non-acm-buildings.
