As Managing Partner of Bolt Burdon I am very proud to head up our firm of fantastic people doing great work for our exciting and interesting clients.
After completing my degree in Law and French in Bristol, which included spending a year working in Paris, I took a couple of years off from the books to go travelling. Whilst in Australia, as well as taking in the sights, I worked in law firms in both Brisbane and Sydney. Then it was back to Bristol to complete my Legal Practice Course where I stayed for my training contract, qualifying as a solicitor in 2005.
I arrived at Bolt Burdon in December 2008 to join the residential property team and was delighted to be asked to become a partner in July 2010, heading up our residential property teams until crossing over into full-time management.
As a conveyancer I hugely enjoyed the client contact that came with helping people to buy and sell their houses – making one of the most stressful things we do in life much less so for my clients. This is something that I am absolutely passionate about and have carried forward into my leadership of the firm – we are always looking for innovative, practical and commercial solutions for our clients, delivered in a way that suits their needs. We understand that clients have busy lives and we pride ourselves on going the extra mile for them.
I am also passionate about making sure Bolt Burdon is a great place to work for our people – we were massively ahead of the game in offering flexible working and continue to be so. We encourage our staff to be as fit and healthy as possible by providing various fitness classes and ensuring there is always a fresh supply of fruit in our kitchen. Above all we make sure we have some fun along the way.
When I’m not working I like to keep fit by going to yoga and bootcamp classes as well as enjoying all that London has to offer. I also love to ski when I can. I ran the Florence marathon in 2009 with 12 colleagues and attempted the 3 Peaks Challenge in 2012. I have a feeling there may be another challenge on the horizon!
